First Time Students
- Step 1: Admissions application
Submit your admissions application. - Step 2: Submit proof of immunization
If you did not select the immunization waiver on the application, you must submit proof of immunization compliance if you were born after 1956. However, you may still complete the immunization waiver here. - Step 3: Submit proof of registration with selective service
Submit proof of registration with military selective service for male applicants between the ages of 18 and 26 (in compliance with State Law R.S. 17:3151). Register now with selective services at www.sss.gov. - Step 4: Submit Placement scores
Provide ACT scores, take the Accuplacer placement test at BRCC, or complete the Self-Placement Surveys for English and Mathematics. You can submit your ACT scores to brccadmissions@mybrcc.edu. You can register to take the Accuplacer here. The Accuplacer test is generally administered in the Testing Center which is located in the Center for Academic Success in the Magnolia Building. During lockdown due to COVID-19, available exams will be held remotely. You can complete the English self-placement survey here. You can complete the Mathematics self-placement survey here. If test scores or self-placement surveys are not submitted, students may not be accurately placed into courses. - Step 5: Apply for Federal Financial Assistance

Returning Students

Students are encouraged to submit official copies of transcripts from each college or university for which credit may be awarded. An official transcript is one that is mailed directly from the transferring college to BRCC. Students are encouraged to request that their transcript be sent electronically to BRCC from those colleges that participate in the eScript or National Student Clearinghouse systems. Dual Enrollment Students
Dual enrollment provides opportunities for qualified high school students to benefit from postsecondary education and training while enrolled in high school. Students can earn high school and college credit simultaneously.
Benefits:
- Complete college-level courses while in high school, increasing the probability of graduating college early.
- Prepare for rigorous college-level learning before enrolling full-time in college.
- Many courses are transferable to colleges/universities across the state.
Eligibility:
High school students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and meet course-specific prerequisites, including ACT or placement test scores. Additional requirements are set by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
Application Steps:
- Complete and print BRCC’s paper application.
- Gather all necessary materials and signatures.
- Submit application and materials to the Office of Dual Enrollment.
- Complete the online application.
Transfer Students

Cross Enrollment Students
If you are seeking a degree at BRCC and need to take a course not offered in your current semester, cross enrollment may be the solution. Cross enrollment allows you to take pre-approved courses at other institutions while remaining enrolled at BRCC.
Steps for Cross Enrollment:
- Ensure the course is not offered at BRCC in the current semester.
- Complete the cross enrollment request form and submit it to Enrollment Services at BRCCcrossenrollment@mybrcc.edu.
- If cross enrolling with Delgado Community College, submit a screenshot showing your tuition status.
Submit the completed request form to the Office of Enrollment Services by email at BRCCcrossenrollment@mybrcc.edu. Cross enrollment is not guaranteed.
Visiting Students

Students are encouraged to request that their transcript be sent electronically to BRCC from those colleges that participate in the eScript or National Student Clearinghouse systems. International Students
An international student is one who is enrolled for credit at an accredited higher education institution in the U.S. on a temporary visa and is not eligible for Financial Aid.
Application Deadlines:
- Summer semester: May 1
- Fall semester: July 1
- Spring semester: November 1
Required Documents:
- Completed Proof of Immunization Compliance form.
- High school transcripts translated into English and evaluated.
- Financial records or affidavit of support showing availability of $15,081.00 USD for tuition and other expenses.
- Minimum TOEFL scores: 500 (paper test) or 61 iBT (internet-based test) or IELTS score of 6.0.
- Copy of current passport.
- If transferring, sealed official college transcripts translated into English, copy of old I-20, and copy of F1 visa.

Eligibility Requirements
BRCC has an open-door admissions policy. Graduates of a state-approved high school, home-schooled students (Board of Elementary and Secondary Education approved programs), and individuals who have obtained the GED or High School Equivalency are all eligible for admission. Individuals over the age of 18 who have not earned a high school diploma are eligible for admission but are not eligible for federal financial aid. We welcome students of all races, religions, sexes, national origins, ages, physical abilities, marital statuses, and veteran statuses. Admission to the college does not ensure admission to a particular program of study.
How to Apply
- Submit Your Application: Fill out the online application form. You can Submit an Application.
- Register for Courses: Once admitted, register for your chosen courses according to published registration dates.
- Complete Payment: After registration, complete the payment procedure to finalize your enrollment.
Students can also apply for credit by exam and earn credit from prior learning or industry certifications.
